Books and Other Found Things, VA

On my way home from Washington D.C. after attending the Women’s March with my mother, we stopped for lunch in the quaint colonial town of Leesburg in Virginia.

The town is full of wine shops (it’s the heart of Virginia wine country), antique stores, museums, cute restaurants and this adorable used bookshop. It’s directly across the street from the Stephen Donaldson Log Cabin, a 1764 historic landmark discovered in the 1960s while the town was building a new parking lot.

The store has plenty of rare first editions (including a $400 first edition of John Muir’s Our National Parks), as well as collector’s editions and lots of used newer books and best-sellers.
